EPOMAKER x UCLA Mechkeys: Bringing Mechanical Keyboards to More Students Than Ever

EPOMAKER x UCLA Mechkeys: Bringing Mechanical Keyboards to More Students Than Ever

We're thrilled to announce that Epomaker has officially partnered with UCLA's brand-new mechanical keyboard club, Mechkeys, as a Major Sponsor!

At Epomaker, we live by a simple belief: From the Community, For the Community.
This isn't just a tagline—it's the reason we exist. Everything we build, every partnership we form, and every event we support is driven by the people who make this hobby what it is: the enthusiasts, the builders, and yes, the students just discovering their first mechanical keyboard.

That's exactly why this partnership with Mechkeys at UCLA feels so right.

Who Is Mechkeys?

Mechkeys is a newly established student organization at UCLA with a simple but powerful mission: to introduce more students to the world of mechanical keyboards.

Through a mix of online content and on-campus events, the club aims to make the hobby accessible, approachable, and fun—especially for beginners who may have never built a board before.

Supporting the Next Generation of Enthusiasts

For the club's launch and upcoming events, Epomaker provided a sponsorship package that includes:

These aren't just products—they're tools for learning. Club members will now have hands-on access to quality boards and switches, allowing them to experience the feel of different switches, practice modding, and truly understand what makes a mechanical keyboard "theirs."

What This Partnership Means

As a Major Sponsor, Epomaker isn't just providing gear—we're helping to build a foundation:

  • Hands-on learning: Students will use Epomaker boards and switches during workshops and meetups, learning how to assemble, tune, and personalize their own keyboards.

  • Exciting giveaways: Our products will serve as prizes during club events like build workshops and keyboard meetups, giving students a real incentive to participate and engage.

  • Campus-wide exposure: With nearly 40,000 undergraduates at UCLA, the visibility of Mechkeys events—both on campus and across social media—means more young people will discover the joy of mechanical keyboards.

First Event Recap: Keyboard Meetup

On March 4th, Mechkeys hosted their first keyboard meetup, drawing 35–50 enthusiastic participants. Students showed off their personal builds, tested out different switches, and got hands-on time with Epomaker boards. A few lucky attendees even walked away with Epomaker products as event prizes—a small taste of what's to come.

A Shared Mission

This partnership makes sense because Epomaker and Mechkeys share the same goal: to make mechanical keyboards more accessible, more educational, and more fun.

Whether you're building your first board or your tenth, the hobby should be welcoming. By supporting student clubs like Mechkeys, we're living our commitment of being FROM the Community, For the Community—ensuring that the next generation of keyboard enthusiasts has the resources, community, and encouragement they need to dive in.

More to Come

At Epomaker, we're committed to supporting keyboard communities of all sizes—from campus clubs to global events. Whether you're a first-time builder or a seasoned collector, we're here to help you find your perfect setup.

Here's to many more clacks, thocks, and happy builds with Mechkeys at UCLA. 🎉
