The Ergo Alice layout With A Numpad

As the traditional Alice-layout keyboard is so popular amongst enthusiasts, many people still miss the numpad. Here we are! With this Alice98 layout, Feker adds a numpad to the alice-split keyboard. The letters and the bottom row are angled at a certain degree to fit the direction of your hands when staying on the desk naturally. The spacebar is split into two pieces to be accommodate this design. It is considered to reach a balance at the aspect of ergonomics. Apart from the typical Alice features, the Feker’s Alice goes further with a media control knob. Like other Alice keyboards, you can still lay your hands on the keyboard freely and increase comfortable typing experiences simultaneously.

Triple Modes: Type-C Wired, Bluetooth 5.0 & 2.4GHz Available

The Feker Alice98 supports connection via Bluetooth or 2.4GHz for wireless connectivity, or with the included Type-C USB cable. With Bluetooth 5.0, it easily connects seamlessly with your devices within 10 meters. Equipped with an 8000 mAh battery, the keyboard is also easily switched among the three modes for efficient multitasking and speedy performance.

Gasket Mount, PC Plate & Sound Absorption Foams

To reach a top typing experience, Feker Alice98 is assembled by gasket mount, which is constructed with the PC plate laying on the top and the bottom case perfectly without any screws in the middle, presenting a soft and even typing feeling at each corner of the keyboard. Feker has also made an effort to enhance the sound by placing a set of sound dampening Poron foams: a bottom case Poron foam, a socket Poron foam, a Poron switch sheet, and a Poron PCB foam. These layers can greatly buff keystrokes. All is to provide a stunning typing sound and a premium typing feeling.

LED Screen or Keys Beside the Rotary Knob?

Feker Alice98 comes in two versions: one with LED screen beside the knob and the other with two keys. The Pgup and Pgdn beside the knob the LED screen, the keyboard presents so much fun in customizing and changing your own memes! You can also check the keyboard status on the screen, such as under wired mode, Bluetooth mode, or 2.4G wireless mode. You can even check the date and time with a glimpse.

South-facing LED RGB Backlight & Kailh Winter Switch

Feker Alice features south-facing LED RGB backlights with 21 light effects. This is also perfect with the Kailh Winter Switch which are shine-through with the amazing RGB lights. What’s more, the switches are pre-lubed to increase the smooth sense. With the triggering force of 38gf to be pressed, the tactile switches are perfect on the keyboard to be easily pressed and shine-through.

NKRO & Detachable Type-C Cable

For this model, we go with lubed plate-mounted stabilizers for they are easier to be taken off, if some extra modding are needed. In the meanwhile, the keyboard also supports NKRO. That means you can type in multiple keys without conflicts. The keyboard comes with a 1.8m hand-braided type-C cable with golden plated connectors. Now you can easily build up your own mechanical keyboard with this keyboard!

    LCD screen unusable on Mac

I hesitated on buying this because of all the bad reviews and mentions of awful software, but have been using a th80x that I’ve had lots of issues with anyway so thought that at least having a numpad would be worth it. Turns out they don’t even make the driver for Mac! This isn’t stated anywhere on this page, and Epomaker still refuses to provide a free return without a restocking fee. I feel misled and so disappointed but hopefully I can find some software that will help AT LEAST have the keyboard show the correct date. Epomaker has offer 15$ to be returned to me, but then I still have a purchased a keyboard for 130$ that I cannot fully use.

Really good keyboard, awful spyware drivers.

The keyboard is super nice and I love it. The drivers for it barely work and come packaged with spyware. If you're going to get this keyboard get it without the screen, because of the garbage drivers the screen is useless.

    Good customer service, good keyboard

I ordered the barebones kit in the color "Dark" to begin with. The keyboard I got was well-packaged, and it shipped and arrived quickly (despite the product listing here on the site saying it's a pre-order - it's not). However, the barebones kit I got was not the chocolate-y "Dark" color - it was just plain black. I wrote an e-mail to customer service about it, and I was in regular and polite contact with a customer service rep who offered me options to fix the issue, to include a full refund and free return shipping. That's the option I chose.
(FYI for anyone who is wanting the brown color: The rep told me that the fully-built keyboard comes in the "Dark" color option, but if you select that option for the barebones kit, it only comes in black.)
So, in the end, I ordered the pre-built keyboard in "Dark," and once it got here I changed out the switches and keycaps to my own taste (although the as-is version was actually very attractive, and the Kailh winter tactile switches sounded great). No issues with the RGB so far. Overall, I am happy with this keyboard, and very pleased with the customer service.

    I want to like it

I bought mine in July 2023. The other reviews are accurate, would be good if it worked consistently. Love the form factor and the keys are awesome, but it the software is garbage that detects as a virus. The built in functions for controlling the backlight randomly fail. I regret buying this.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

First, the Good: The overall design is great, and this is the BEST Alice setup that you can get on a keyboard, Every other Alice I've seen has the 2 and the - keys shifted up slightly and then 3-6, as well as the keys below them, are just tilted relative to the rest of the keys but, relative to each other, they're straight. Not so for the Feker Alice 98 (or 96 if you get the LCD version)! All of the keys are fanned evenly, making not only a more aesthetically pleasing layout but also a more functional layout, in my opinion. It's just fantastic! None of the keys look out of place (like the 2 or the -) and the slightly greater spacing between all of the keys allows for even better RGB backlighting! It's really a splendid design!

Now, the Bad: There is no excuse for not having a dedicated Print Screen, Scroll Lock, or Pause/Break function, either using dedicated keys or, more likely on a 98/96%, using the FN key. My RT100 uses the NumPad 9, 3, and . keys in conjunction with the FN key. Others might use FN + Del for Print Screen. Either way, this is an inexcusable oversight. Fortunately, it's not hard to use Power Toys to set up a dedicated shortcut for those functions.

And now the Ugly: Why would I use Power Toys to make shortcuts instead of using the software for this keyboard? Because the software is inexcusably horrible. If there's a way to set up FN + (Key) combos, I can't figure it out -- and that's when Windows lets me use the software and doesn't immediately delete it because it thinks it's a trojan virus (maybe it is?!). These days, there is absolutely no good reason not to make your keyboard compatible with VIA, especially if you can't be bothered to make decent proprietary software!

And let's not forget the fact that the software treats both versions of the keyboard as the LCD version, not letting you remap the PgUp and PgDn keys that the 98 has instead of the LCD screen. You literally can't reprogram those two keys, which you might want to set as Print Screen or something else! At least, if you can, I haven't figured out how!

My Verdict: Yes, I've been pretty hard on this keyboard, and it's because I'm hoping that Feker will make some moderate effort to improve the software and the firmware, maybe make it compatible with VIA? Or maybe just make better software that Windows doesn't flag as a virus!

All of that being said, even with all of its deficiencies, the actual Alice design is phenomenal, and my Feker Alice has become my primary keyboard because it's so much more comfortable to type on. It literally allows my wrists, and thus my hands, to assume a much more natural position while typing (and yes, I'm typing this review on the Feker Alice).

I wish that some more care had been put into making this a truly fully functional keyboard, as any 1800 layout (Alice or no) should be, but despite its problems, I can't bring myself to go back to my previous go-to keyboard, the RT 100 (even though that's an amazing board, as well!).
