✨ Introduction:
Choosing your first mechanical keyboard can feel super overwhelming, there are so many choices out there! After a lot of youtube videos and reddit threads, as well as some indecision, I decided to go with the beautiful Hi75! Now that I have it in hand I can 100% say I don't regret my decision one bit! As someone who's a beginner and still new to the hobby, I wanted to share my first impressions in case it helps others who are also just starting with their journey!
👀 Unboxing and First Looks!:
Let's get into how opening the package felt! I ordered my keyboard with the Epomaker Shipping Protection, and my package was super wrapped with bubble wrap. When I first opened the box itself, I was amazed by how pretty and premium the keyboard looked. Picking it up, it was surprisingly heavy and felt super premium and high quality. Included in the box was as mentioned above, as well as the keyboard itself of course, and a keyboard plastic cover!
🔨 Design and Build Quality:
Now onto the build and design! Like I mentioned, the keyboard felt so high quality and durable, it also has a nice bounce/flex when typing on it which feels really nice in my opinion.
The reason why I chose the Heart Throb design? Well, because it's super duper cute of course! :3 The print on the keycaps and the feel of the keycaps is actually pretty nice and they feel really soft! I went with the 75% layout after only using 100% layouts before, I'd like to think I am adjusting pretty well. It's most definitely more compact and is great for a smaller desk space. (I do miss having a number pad though 3)
The **** on this is AMAZING. I didn't think I'd be the type of person to like **** but omg! It makes such a satisfying sound when turning it and clicking it. There are two modes for the ****:
- Office Mode: Which controls the volume.
- Gaming Mode: Which controls the RGB.
I haven't tried gaming on the keyboard yet, but I'll update in my two-week review!
⌨️ Typing:
That first key click was literally the best thing I have ever experienced so far! The nimbus switches are really doing the job combined with the keycaps to produce a nice THOCKKYYY sound. They're so smooth to type on too, and much more comfortable compared to any keyboard I've typed on before.
🔆 Software and Drivers:
Downloading the software to the keyboard wasn't difficult at all, and the program is actually really easy to navigate. There are also preexisting shortcuts on the keyboard that let you quickly access RGB customization settings. You can tweak the RGB as well as Macros seamlessly.
🐣 Personal Cons:
While I absolutely loved the Hi75, there are a couple of things I feel could be improved or might not work for everyone:
- No adjustable feet: Unfortunately, the Hi75 doesn’t offer adjustable feet, so you can’t change the typing angle (It does however come with an angle). ):
- Might be too loud for office use: The THOCK could be a bit distracting in quieter environments like an office. ):
🐣Overall Rating: 9/10 🐣
